The Golden Camellia is located in Oggebbio, on the Piedmontese shore of the Lake Maggiore. It is a project of flower-growing lovers, situated in a prestigious garden of camellias in Villa Anelli. The camellia collection, which started in 1872, is an outdoor museum displaying over 400 species and cultivar specimens.
The catalogue of the garden was issued in 1965, which is also the year in which The Italian Camellia Society was founded.
Since 2010, it’s been awarded as Camellia Garden of Excellence by ICS International Camellia Society.
